The next version, version 6.0, was released in June 1998 and is the last version to run on the Windows 9x platform.[39] The version numbers of all of its constituent parts also moved to 6.0, including Visual J++ which jumped from 1.1, and Visual InterDev which was at 1.0. This version was the basis of Microsoft's development system for the next four years, as Microsoft transitioned their development focus to the .NET Framework.

Visual Studio 6.0 was the last version to include the COM-based version of Visual Basic; subsequent versions would include the version of the language based on .NET. So now you can send an SMS and crash a mobile phone, so that the user is
locked out.

A security researcher at ITSX, has adapted a program called
sms_client, which sends an SMS message from an Internet-connected PC, in
which the User Data Header is broken.

During a presentation during the Black Hat conference last week, he
demonstrated how a malformed message crashes a Nokia 6210 phone on its
receipt. Once the message is received it is impossible to turn on an
infected phone again.

The vulnerability is tied to the software used by a phone. The flaw
affects Nokia 6210, 3310 and 3330 phones, de Haas has discovered, but not
a Siemens phone he tried. Phones from other manufacturers are yet to be
tested.

To fix the problem users have to put a SIM card into a phone without the
bug. Alternatively if the SMS message is registered in a user's In-box
this could be deleted with a SMS management tool on a PC.

To repeat the exploit requires knowledge of SS7 signalling and telco
protocols to adapt sms_client into an attack tool. But given the power of
the attack security through obscurity doesn't appeal. The kicker is that
the modified sms_client makes it trivial to spoof the source of any
attack.

Nokia told us that sending a message which freezes a phone is "something
it encountered" before. The company is unfamiliar with the exploit
uncovered by ITSX, which comes as a new twist even to clued-up Black Hat
attendees. It promises to get us a more detailed technical response, and
we'll update you when this becomes available.

Since we are going to do all the Editing in Window Registry it is Recommended to Back Up the Registry before going Further.

After you have Backed up your registry follow the Steps to Create your Hidden Account:

First Goto Start -> Run -> Type regedit -> Enter
In the Left Menu goto,

This is a very easy but an awesome Trick. When you or someone else enters an incorrect login multiple times then Yahoo! locks the account for “security reasons” and you are unable to access your chat names. Cool thing is that, these are a piece of cake to unlock.

All you need is a list of Yahoo servers to log in with. Every time you login, you are using what’s called a server to access yahoo. You login with a cookie, which is sort of like an information packet or ID proving that you are who you claim to be, and the account is yours.

When people attempt to log your name in multiple times with a locking tool, all they are doing is logging in over and over with an incorrect password until your cookie expires, which means you will no longer be allowed to login. So, when you find yourself locked, what you need to do is refresh your cookie. But how can you do that when the yahoo server you were using has blocked you?

Simple, find another server. Yahoo has servers all over the place. There are more than I’d care to count. I’ll include a pretty decent sized list with this tutorials. All you have to do is paste one of these servers in your browser and log in on the page you see. Unless you have been locked on that server as well, you will receive a fresh cookie and will be able to log in to messenger again.

Tons of people try to go through their email and login there to unlock an account, but a smart locker will shut down your mail server first, then cut off your chat server. Most people don’t know what to do if the email is blocked, so they give up trying. That’s why I don’t even bother with the email method. I simply pick another server, log in, and I’m good to go. There are so many servers out there that it is impossible to lock them all. Even if they could, the lock is only for about 12 hours, and then you’re back in business.

A tool that automatically steals IDs of non-encrypted sessions and breaks into Google Mail accounts has been presented at the Defcon hackers’ conference in Las Vegas.

Google introduced a new feature in Gmail that allows users to permanently switch on SSL and use it for every action involving Gmail, and not only, authentication. Users who did not turn it on now have a serious reason to do so as Mike Perry, the reverse engineer from San Francisco who developed the tool is planning to release it in two weeks.

When you log in to Gmail the website sends a cookie (a text file) containing your session ID to the browser. This file makes it possible for the website to know that you are authenticated and keep you logged in for two weeks, unless you manually hit the sign out button. When you hit sign out this cookie is cleared.

Even though when you log in, Gmail forces the authentication over SSL (Secure Socket Layer), you are not secure because it reverts back to a regular unencrypted connection after the authentication is done. According to Google this behavior was chosen because of low-bandwidth users, as SLL connections are slower.

The problem lies with the fact that every time you access anything on Gmail, even an image, your browser also sends your cookie to the website. This makes it possible for an attacker sniffing traffic on the network to insert an image served from http://mail.google.com and force your browser to send the cookie file, thus getting your session ID. Once this happens the attacker can log in to the account without the need of a password. People checking their e-mail from public wireless hotspots are obviously more likely to get attacked than the ones using secure wired networks.

Perry mentioned that he notified Google about this situation over a year ago and even though eventually it made this option available, he is not happy with the lack of information. “Google did not explain why using this new feature was so important” he said. He continued and explained the implications of not informing the users, “This gives people who routinely log in to Gmail beginning with an https:// session a false sense of security, because they think they’re secure but they’re really not.”

If you are logging in to your Gmail account from different locations and you would like to benefit from this option only when you are using unsecured networks, you can force it by manually typing https://mail.google.com before you log in. This will access the SSL version of Gmail and it will be persistent over your entire session and not only during authentication.

You can Activate the Option to permanently switch on SSL and use it for every action involving Gmail, and not only, authentication by going into the Settings of the Gmail and in the General Tab Select the Option Always use https under the Browser Connections.
